Why Adam’s our hero…
In any organisation you need people who are dedicated, loyal and conscientious. Adam fulfils each of these qualities. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic the workshop has been up against some of the most challenging times we can recall, juggling MOT inspections, restricted support from outside organisations, and on top of this the constant pressure that compliance must be upheld, and deadlines met. Adam works alongside a small team of inhouse fleet mechanics who all play a vital role within the company, each team member appreciates his support on a daily basis.
Adam has been with the company since leaving school, starting in the manufacturing side of the business before taking up a role in the vehicle maintenance department. He began to learn his trade as an apprentice and slowly improved his knowledge and experience before taking on the demanding and important position he currently holds overseeing the workshop department. As the Transport Manager I’m also grateful for his support as we strive to improve and move forward the transport side of the business.
Adam’s contributions to the success of the business is recognised by all of the team and long may it continue!

Why Jack’s our hero…
This is Jack. He’s worked in the industry since 2016 and he’s autistic. During the week he worked hard at Scania, spending every weekend throughout the summer helping a local farmer by fault-finding and fixing equipment, mowing and feeding livestock.
Jack then decided to take a break from farm work and began the commute to Buxton in the Peak District. While there he met his uncles and cousins who have worked in haulage since the ‘70s. Jack was inspired. As a result he paid for a RHA IRTEQ Technician’s certification course and undertook another on fleet operations and maintenance delivered by the RHA training team. Between October and December he covered over 2,000 miles in 10 days to go back and forth to complete his HVAC and F-Gas courses. All of this hard work and determination has paid off and Jack now owns his own fridge trailer that he maintains himself and rents out.
Jack has always loved lorries and has been nominated by his sister, Lauren, who would love to see him be recognised as an RHA Hero. He really is a shining example of someone with a condition who, rather than let it define him, has overcome many obstacles to make his dreams come true through sheer hard work and determination.
